Digital Initiatives Archivist

Chaeyeon Kim, MLIS, is the digital initiatives archivist at SUNY Upstate Medical University Health Sciences Library's Archives and Special Collections department. In her archival role, she establishes and implements policies and procedures for describing and providing access to born-digital and digitized materials, including university records and manuscript collections under best practices and professional standards. The role also provides input into managing the web archiving program, including designing workflows and assisting in policy oversight. Previously she served as a reference librarian for Worcester Public Library. She is a member of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) and currently serves on the SAA Publications Board. Chaeyeon received her MS in Library Science with a concentration in archives from Simmons University. Chaeyeon's professional research interests include methods and technologies around big data with archival practice and new forms of analysis.
