After starting out as a hospital librarian doing clinical librarianship and then spending 22 years being a clinical librarian in an academic medical setting, Helen-Ann Brown Epstein MLS, MS, AHIP, FMLA has enthusiastically returned to solo hospital librarianship for Virtua Health. Virtua Health is a 5 hospital plus longterm care and rehabilitation healthcare system of about 14,000 employees in southern New Jersey with affiliations with Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania and University of Pennsylvania Medicine. Her Virtua Health Sciences Library lives in cyberspace, leaving her to have an ambitious 5 day a week rounding schedule and freedom to be at meetings, serve on an IRB, the Nursing Research Council, make InfoHouseCalls and teach thinking and searching in an evidence based way. She received a Magnet exemplar in Virtua's Magnet Designation for her use of evidence based information resources. Anchored in the Clinical Learning Team with Nursing Leadership, Clinical Research and Continuing Education, her main constituency is nurses who practice evidence based relationship care.
