Violet Fox is a Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at the Galter Health Sciences Library at Northwestern University. She has served as an editor for the Sears List of Subject Headings, the Dewey Decimal Classification, and is currently the social media editor for Cataloging & Classification Quarterly. Violet is passionate about the intersection of power and language and considers it her responsibility as a metadata librarian to use equitable descriptions and culturally-informed language.
