Ellen M. Justice

Ellen M. Justice, MLIS, AHIP serves as a Clinical & Resarch Librarian. She provides clinical literature searching and reference services to support patient care in 16 counties of Western North Carolina. She executes expert searches to support clinical and administrative information needs of MAHEC’s administrators, residents, faculty, clinicians, and research staff. Conducts instructional sessions to teach AHEC’s Digital Library, databases, and literature searching.

She has contributed to her profession by presenting posters, authoring a book chapter and articles, and volunteering for the Philadelphia Regional Chapter and the International Cooperation Section of MLA. She has also co-authored several systematic reviews for which she provided expert literature searches and documentation.

Ellen earned her master of library and information science from the University of South Carolina in 1994 and distinguished membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals since 2012. She received the Philadelphia Regional Chapter of the Medical Library Association (MLA-Phil) Randy Brenner Memorial Consumer Health Award in 2015.
