Janet Crum, MLS, AHIP, is Director of the Health Sciences Library at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She previously served as Head, Content, Discovery, and Delivery services at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and Director, Library Services at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. From the mid-1990s to 2010, she held a number of increasingly responsible positions at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. She holds a BA in English from University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) and an MLS from the University of Washington (Seattle). She’s the author of numerous journal articles and conference presentations and the co-editor of Essential Leadership Skills for Health Sciences Information Professionals, forthcoming from Rowman & Littlefield. Her professional and research interests include leading remote and hybrid work teams, employee engagement, effective library leadership, new and emerging roles for health sciences librarians, and the impact of health sciences libraries on key institutional outcomes.
