Carol Colasacco, SCT(ASCP), MLIS, AHIP, is a medical librarian specialist for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the leading organization of board-certified pathologists whose mission is to foster and advocate for excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide. Ms. Colasacco is a member of the Pathology and Laboratory Quality Center for Evidence-Based Guidelines team and supports laboratory practice guideline development at the CAP. She has a special interest in identifying and measuring the impact of published guidelines and developing efficiencies to support systematic literature reviews.
Ms. Colasacco received her MLIS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2005 and worked for many years as a cytotechnologist in pathology laboratories in Wisconsin and Vermont prior to beginning her second career as a medical librarian. She has been with the CAP for over 10 years and has been a member of the MLA for more than 12 years. Ms. Colasacco is currently past-chair of the Health Associations and Corporate Caucus.
