As a Medical Librarian Specialist with the Center for Evidence-Base Guidelines at the College of American Pathologists (CAP), I am a collaborator on clinical guideline development teams, conducting systematic reviews, researching guideline impact, and managing multiple projects. Additionally, I participate in the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives (DE&I) by collaborating with the Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) to bring awareness on topics surrounding the LatinX community and participate in the endeavors and programming of the Women’s ERG group.
My areas of expertise include performing systematic reviews, teaching evidence-based medicine, embedded librarianship, reference, and library instruction. I have authored a number of publications and posters on systematic reviews in oncology related topics, evidence-based nursing, library instruction and literature searching.
Born and raised in New York city, borough of the Bronx, I am a die-hard New York Yankees fan. Additionally, I enjoy visiting museums, attending Broadway shows, cooking and reading. My favorite cuisine is Puerto Rican. Some of my favorite authors include Gabriel Garcia-Marquez; Isabel Allende; Pablo Neruda; Carlos Fuentes, Julia de Burgos, Maya Angelou and Elizabeth Acevedo.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Master of Arts in American Studies and Master of Library Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Informatics from Drexel University.
