Louisa Verma, MLIS, AHIP is currently a solo librarian at the Portland Cement Association Library a science and engineering library for the cement and concrete industries. Louisa has 20+ years of experience in library and information science in medical, academic and special libraries. Prior to becoming PCA's librarian she worked as a medical librarian at the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA. Whether assisting professionals in finding information on the best course of treatment or the science and engineering behind cement and concrete, the passion she has is always the same – being a bridge from inquiry to knowledge. Her hobbies include: West African Djembe drumming, listening to audiobooks on her long commute, and saving neighborhood squirrels from her German Shepherd through the abundant treat training method.
